WiFi review, default configurations, SSID, quick security checklist, policies: guidelines, baselines, implementation, monitoring, response. Hands on: Setting up a basic WLAN.
Wardriving
Network mapping, site surveying, wireless network discovery, monitor mode tools, warchalking signs. Hands on: Attacking a basic WLAN.
Security tools
WEP crackers, retrieving WEP keys, 802.1x cracking, frame generators, traffic insertion, AP management tools, RF jamming, data flooding, sniffers, scanners. Hands on: Using security tools.
Basic security
Authentication, Encryption, Integrity, SSID, Closed ESSIDs, WEP, filters, segmentation. WiFi history, WPA, 802.11i. Hands on: Implementing basic security measures. Bypassing basic security.
WEP
WEP, WEP authentication process, WEP use of management frames, WEP traffic flow, WEP encryption, RC algorithm keys, integrity check, proprietary improvements. Hands on: WEP crackers.
RADIUS and WLANs
RADIUS review, WiFi issues. Hands on: Configuring RADIUS for WLANs.
802.1x
Supplicants, Authenticators, Authentication servers, uncontrolled ports, controlled ports, upper layer authentication.
